30 en 31 augustus

Op zaterdag 30 augustus is Jaap een uur eerder dan gebruikelijk te horen op Radio Mi Amigo 192: om 17.00 uur met een uur uit de Top 192.

Gouwe ouwe internetradio Mi Amigo 192 zendt op zondag 31 augustus 2008 live uit vanuit strandpaviljoen EscuBelle, Strandweg 17 in Scheveningen. Van 12.00 tot 18.00 uur draaien de deejays er de hoogste noteringen in de Top 192, de favoriete liedjes van de luisteraars uit de zeezendertijd (1960-1989). Ook zijn er optredens van coverband ReaXtion en leuke prijzen. Het nieuws wordt gelezen door oud Radio Noordzee nieuwslezer Peter Jager.

Van 18.00 tot 19.00 uur klinken bij Jaap Jansen weer de typische zeezendersongs en tussen 19.00 en 20.00 uur is er rechtstreeks contact met het ‘zendschip’ de MS Fortuna waarop Radio West die avond de zeezenders herdenkt met Paul Waayers en Marcel Strücker. Ook is er aandacht voor ‘het zeezendergevoel’ op internet.

31 augustus is traditioneel zeezenderdag. Op die datum in 1974 moesten zendschepen als Radio Veronica en Radio Noordzee hun uitzendingen stoppen. Vanuit Nederland meewerken aan uitzendingen vanaf zee werd toen verboden. Eén zender ging wel door: Radio Mi Amigo, dat met de studio’s naar Spanje verhuisde. In 1980 zonk het schip. Na het uiteenvallen van Kayak in 1982 trad Edward Reekers vooral op als studiomuzikant en achtergrondzanger van onder meer Anita Meyer, Conny Vandenbos en Rob de Nijs. Op maandag 11 augustus draait Radio Mi Amigo 192 in plaats van de Lievelingen Shaft van Isaac Hayes. Als eerbetoon aan de zondag overleden soul-legende. Isaac zou op 20 augustus 66 jaar zijn geworden.
