Nieuwe expositie over 50 jaar Radio Veronica

Naar het voorbeeld van Radio Mercur in Denemarken werd op 15 oktober 1959 in Hotel Krasnapolsky te Amsterdam besloten radio-uitzendingen vanaf een schip op de Noordzee te starten. Het station ging werken onder de naam ‘Vrije Radio Omroep Nederland’, afgekort tot VRON en later gewijzigd in het befaamde Veronica. Om vijftig jaar radiogeschiedenis te vieren, is er vanaf 9 juli in de Rock Art Gallery in Hoek van Holland een jubileumexpositie over Radio Veronica. Mediaminister Ronald Plasterk zal de tentoonstelling openen.

Op de tentoonstelling 50 Jaar Radio Veronica zijn onder meer originele studio’s van de zeezender te zien die ook nog werken. Verder zijn er foto’s, draagbare 192-radio’s en bouwpakketten van de zendschepen. De collectie van de galerie wordt later in het nog te bouwen popmuseum in Scheveningen ondergebracht.

Jaap interviewt zondag Johan Vermeer (Mi Amigo 272 op zee)

Op 21 juni presenteert Radio Mi Amigo 192 de 7e uitzending van Club Mi Amigo in het kader van 35 jaar Radio Mi Amigo. Deze uitzending staat in het teken van Radio Mi Amigo 272 uit 1979 vanaf de MS Magdalena met Johan Vermeer (Louis Stuster).

Club Mi Amigo wordt uitgezonden op Radio Mi Amigo 192 op zondagmiddag van 17 tot 18 uur. Club Mi Amigo is een unieke serie programma's met telkens een terugblik op een deel van de Radio Mi Amigo historie.

De terugblikken gebeuren aan de hand van persoonlijke herinneringen van DJ's, artiesten en andere direct betrokkenen. Interessante gasten dus, die de zeezenderperiode van zeer nabij hebben meegemaakt.
Vanuit diverse invalshoeken worden de jaren '70 herbeleefd met in elke aflevering één of meerdere gasten, die hun licht laten schijnen op die roerige, maar onvergetelijke periode.

Na de Sylvain Tack-memorial, Eddy Govert en zangeres Samantha, Vic Dennis van Joepie, Manneke Pop Peter van Dam, de zusjes Maessen en scheepskok Kees Borrell is Jaap Jansen deze keer de gastheer van Club Mi Amigo. Hij praat met voormalig Mi Amigo 272 DJ Johan Vermeer over de Mi Amigo organisatie van toen, de staat van de zenders en de studio's en natuurlijk over het schip; de Magdalena.
